As part of the programme Nouveau chercheur de la région Auvergne, a post-doctoral position is available at the mathematical laboratory of the Blaise Pascal University of Clermont-Ferrand, in Number Theory.
Candidates must fulfill the following conditions:
- Research topic: Number theory
- Subtopics: Diophantine equations - Diophantine Geometry - Elliptic curves.
- The candidate should have some knowledge about algorithmic methods in
number theory and be familiar with PARI/GP, Sage or Magma.
- The candidate will
integrate with the Number
Theory team whose research topics are described here.
- A part of the working time of the recruited candidate will be
spent developing practical aspects in solving Diophantine equations.
Details of the contract
- Duration: 2 years
- Beginning of the position: between September and November 2015
- Salary: 1700 euros per month
- Place of work: Laboratoire de Mathématiques of the Blaise Pascal University, Campus universitaire des Cézeaux, 63171 Aubière Cedex, France.
- No teaching or administrative duties.
- Condition: the candidate must have obtained their PhD before the
beginning of the contract.
